James Earl Jones was born Todd Jones on January 17, 1931 in Arkabutla, Township, Tate County, Mississippi. His parents names are Ruth (nee Connolly) and Robert Earl Jones. He was raised by his mother's parents Maggie and John Henry Connolly. His father left the family before he was born. He moved to Jackson, Michigan to live on his grandparents farm. He was very tramatized by the move and the adoption, that he devolped a stuttering problem. He really didn't talk until he was in high school, because of his condition. He started to attend the University of Michigan in 1949, where he planned to practice medicine. He later joined the army and felt so comfortable, that he decided to stay. That's why I feel he deserves to recognized, honored, and thanked for all the hard work he has done in the theatre, and the movie industry.
His story has taught me how not to give up a dream, no matter how impossible may seem to achieve that dream, you just have to keep on beleving in yourself, work hard for them and you well achieve your lifelong dream.
